What People Are Saying

“Hi Kelli, Frankie (13) and Lily (7) attended the school holiday programme on Thursday 18th July. They were looking forward to learning more about our Native wildlife and they weren’t disappointed. Feedback from them both afterwards was very positive. To begin, the room was full of interesting animals and artefacts. They were thrilled with the opportunities to get close up to a variety of animals, including a snake, bobtail, blue tongue lizard, barn owl, tawny frogmouth and everyone’s favourite, Ollie the brushtail possum. The session included a walk round some of the grounds down to the lake to gather leaves for their mealworm farm. Hayley and Jamie, the two presenters were enthusiastic and knowledgeable and gave the children insights into the life these creatures would live in the wild. Both Frankie and Lily said it was fun and interesting and the highlight for both was holding Ollie the possum and having their photo taken. They each left with a small mealworm to care for and Frankie said it inspired her to think about volunteering at NAR when she is old enough. Cheers,”
