Do you have a soft spot for wildlife or know someone who does? Looking for a meaningful gift that’s a little outside the box? Our Animal Sponsorship Program, launched in 2017, gives you the chance to support WA’s native wildlife as they journey from injury to recovery and back into the wild.
For just $15 a month, your sponsorship helps provide food, medical care, and enrichment for our native wildlife. Whether you’re gifting it to someone special or sponsoring in your own name, your support makes a lasting impact.

Current Sponsorship opportunities
You can sponsor a resident endangered black cockatoo in permanent care, or help towards the rehabilitation of one that will be released back into the wild to support the wild population. Both the Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus latirostris) and Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii naso) are facing serious decline — your support can make a real difference.
When you sponsor an animal at Perth Wildlife Hospital, you’ll receive:

- A personalised Certificate of Appreciation
- An Information Sheet detailing the species you’ve chosen to support
- Specific details about your sponsored animal, including:
- Sex and age
- Where it was found
- The reason it came into our care
- Duration of its rehabilitation
- Expected care and recovery needs

How Your Sponsorship Helps
Your sponsorship directly funds vital care for injured and sick wildlife, covering everything from diagnostics, X-rays, and housing to veterinary treatment, medication, and surgical procedures. Every dollar helps ensure animals in our care receive the expert support they need and deserve.
Many of our endangered black cockatoos arrive at Perth Wildlife Hospital after collisions with vehicles. Their rehabilitation is a delicate and lengthy process, often taking 6 to 12 months as they recover, rebuild strength, and prepare for release back into the wild. Your support makes that journey possible.

Our sponsorship program began with the beloved Carnaby’s black cockatoos, and we’re excited to now include the equally incredible Forest red-tailed black cockatoos, both in need of care and support.
